How this calculator works
Maternity Pay pays 90% of your average earnings for the first 6 weeks, uncapped — genuinely 90%, however high your earnings. From week 7 to 39, it drops to whichever is lower: the £194 flat rate, or your 90% figure — so only lower earners actually get 90% for the full 39 weeks.
Sick Pay has no percentage element at all — it's a flat £123/week regardless of how much you earn (as long as you clear the Lower Earnings Limit), starting from the 4th qualifying day of sickness — the first 3 are unpaid "waiting days".
