Sumcheck

Terms of Use

Last updated: 17 August 2026

These terms apply whenever you use Sumcheck. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. What the site is

Sumcheck provides free online calculators covering UK personal finance topics — income, debt, and housing among others. The service is provided as-is, free of charge, and supported by advertising.

2. Not financial, tax, or legal advice

Nothing on Sumcheck is financial, tax, legal, or professional advice of any kind. Every calculator produces an estimate based on simplified assumptions and the figures you enter — it does not account for your full personal or financial circumstances.

Before making a financial decision, you should seek advice from a qualified, regulated professional (for example an independent financial adviser, mortgage broker, or accountant) who can assess your specific situation.

3. Accuracy

We aim to keep figures (tax bands, National Insurance thresholds, stamp duty rates, and similar) up to date with the current UK tax year, and we test calculations carefully. That said, we make no guarantee that any calculator is complete, accurate, or up to date at any given time, and rates or rules referenced by a calculator may change after publication. Use the results as a general guide, not a guaranteed figure.

4. No warranty, limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sumcheck is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its calculators — including financial decisions made on the basis of a calculator's output.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

5. Acceptable use

Please don't misuse the site — for example, by attempting to disrupt it, scrape it at a disproportionate rate, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

6. Advertising and third parties

The site displays advertising served by third parties (such as Google AdSense) to keep every calculator free. We don't control the content of individual ads, and displaying an ad doesn't imply Sumcheck's endorsement of the advertiser or their product. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising cookies are handled.

7. Intellectual property

The site's design, text, and code are owned by Sumcheck or used under licence, except where otherwise stated. You're welcome to link to any page on the site. Please don't reproduce substantial parts of the site elsewhere without permission.

8. Changes

We may update these terms or any calculator at any time. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
